WP5

To use the models developed in IMPROVE project in the day-to-day activity of a fabrication line, it will be necessary to integrate them in the Factory Information and Control Systems.
To take advantage of the IMPROVE methodologies and to use them efficiently in our production lines, it will be necessary to federate the various approaches used for equipment control and utilization into a coherent framework to come to a holistic approach of the resource management.

FICS applications are essential enablers of the “Virtual Metrology” solutions, “Predictive Equipment” Control and “Dynamic Risk Assessment and Control Plan” methodologies.
The actual implementation of the developed methods in a production line will therefore require their integration in the decision system of the factory and the development of dedicated FICS. The analysis of the needed evolutions of the existing systems and the prototyping and test of these FICS evolutions are part of this WP.

This Work Package aims to provide the necessary IT infrastructure (coherent framework) to support the integration and fab-wide deployment in the existing manufacturing lines of the “Virtual Metrology” solutions, “Predictive Equipment” Control and “Dynamic Risk Assessment and Control Plan” methodologies developed in WP2-WP4.

At the end of the IMPROVE project, we will have developed the tools and methods necessary to implement Virtual Metrology and Predictive Equipment Behaviour systems, use their results to dynamically optimize the Control Plan and integrate them in the Factory Information and Control Systems.

This is what we have to demonstrate by building a proof of concept of an integration platform framework, making possible the interoperability of different control systems, working with appropriate data management systems and having the flexibility to be deployed in various fab contexts. And finally we must achieve that such a system can be considered as a reference and as a "de facto" standard platform, which will further be adopted in the industry. This IMPROVE consortium and project is the right place to demonstrate it tentatively.
