The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (FHWN) currently has approximately 3500 students, and therefore possesses the largest University of Applied Sciences-campus in Austria. It has a distinctive, high-impact research culture. We are committed to building an institution that responds to the needs of its region and enhances the region's cultural, economic, environmental and educational development. The research activities at the University of Applied Sciences are distinctively interdisciplinary. University supported research centres conduct research and supervise research students in a range of fields including Applied Science in Business Studies, Microsystems Technology, Bioengineering Processes, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics and Information Technology. In the past years the RTD activities were focused on Micro- and Nanosystems. Within the last years the FHWN is also participating in research activities in the field of nanotechnology. Several laboratories for mechatronics and microsystems development are available.
